First Match, Nets, Practice roll up roll up etc
Chaps
Sunshine and cruel Artic winds allowing we're due our first game and formal outside practice session on Sat 19th April.
New skipper of the thirds James Lloydy Lloyd (who makes up these nicknames?) will run net and fielding practice from 12.30.
Those not picked for the mixed ability Wick team to play Thames Ditton are invited to attend. Those of you with stout livers and strong constitutions will then enjoy a lively trip to watch the boys play. Last year Paul Hibby Hibberd (who makes up these nicknames) was in fine form and smashed a ton.
Nets will then run every Tues & Thurs at 18:00 from 22nd April. There are one or two Wednesday Oval nets remaining for those of you who fancy a more controlled environment in which to limber up for the season...
Duck tax applies from Friday 18 April by the way in all games including Sundays... £5 seniors, £2.50 concs (Colts exempted).

Colt's shouldn't be exempt from duck tax, there should be some sort of ritual embarassment to help them learn ducks are bad. Flogging perhaps, maybe stone them with cricket balls and stumps!!

Dear A
HWRCC fully embraces its responsibilities under the Safe Hands initiative and would do no such thing. In fact A, we're coming to get you now. With stumps.
Wickman
Didnt Hibby get a ton against Long Ditton?
Long Ditton, Thames Ditton schmems Ditton why worry about a syllable. If Wickman had said he got a ton against the Australian Test team that would have been massive exaggeration and would have built Hibby up to the status of Bothamesque God. No, Wickman just got the wrong bit of Ditton. It's a small issue. It doesn't affect the flowwww of the post does it? It doesn't cheapen his knock either. Just leave it. Report this to the ASA or Points of View or something. See if I care.

Wickman does need a lie down. He also wonders why he bothers etc etc
Im thinking Thames Ditton Pub Crawl after the game (weather permitting) could be a lively idea!
What could be better than an afternoon of watching leather on willow followed by a tour of suburbia's drinking holes.
L
then all back to L's house as he lives so close..
